Deana + Scott met at a wedding! Isn’t that everyone’s dream? Despite Deana living in Northern California and Scott living in Southern California, they just knew they HAD to be in a relationship. Fast forward to the proposal- Scott had been planning for a couple of months. Deana had a stressful week at work and he wanted to get away for the weekend so he told her they were going to go to a Bed and Breakfast in Napa. (They LOOOVE wine!… my kinda peoples). They got on the road and got on the wrong freeway and she was like whaaaa? He drove her towards Carmel and took her to her favorite breakfast place. He then took her on highway 1, and said we’re not going to Carmel! (I love all the tricks!) Three hours down PCH, they end up at Croad Vineyard in Paso Robles. They went to a fancy dinner and then went for a walk until they saw a fountain lit with string lights. Scott had been working with a wedding planner and to help our for this next part. He then took her into a room lit with candles, rose petals, and had timeline of their relationship with photos on top of wine barrels… and of course champagne. He got down on one knee and obviously she said YES!
About a week before our engagement session, Deana texted me and asked if she could bring smoke bombs, and of course my reaction was “HECK YES”! We met up and had a glass of wine (by glass of wine, I mean solo cup of wine because we were in the freaking parking lot lol) to get to know each other before the shoot, since I had only talked to Deana on the phone. We had such a blast popping around Irvine and Corona Del Mar for the shoot. They are both such sweet, easy-going people and I cannot wait for their wedding this summer!
We then headed to the beach and I told them to run to each other like they haven’t seen each other in forever (which was easy for them to imagine since they’re still living that long distance life). I love this sequence-
